ABS stands for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, and each of the three components contributes something specific. Acrylonitrile brings chemical resistance and heat stability, butadiene rubber particles deliver impact toughness, and styrene provides the rigidity and easy processing that fabricators appreciate. In sheet form, the material is extruded: melted, pressed through a die into a continuous web and cut to size, which produces consistent gauge and surface quality across large areas.
