PC/ABS Sheets

ABS/PC composite board is a high-performance engineering plastic board made by co extruding or hot pressing ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) and PC (polycarbonate). It usually uses PC as the functional surface layer and ABS as the rigid substrate. The advantages of the two complement each other, combining the impact resistance and weather resistance of PC with the easy processing and low-cost characteristics of ABS. It is a composite board with outstanding comprehensive performance.
1、 Core performance advantages
Ultra high impact resistance, drop and impact resistance
PC itself is an engineering plastic with excellent impact resistance, and its impact strength is several times that of ordinary plastics. After composite with ABS substrate, the impact resistance of the board is further improved, and it can withstand heavy object impact and high-altitude drop at room temperature without breaking; Under low temperature conditions (around -40 ℃), it can still maintain excellent toughness, far superior to pure ABS, HIPS and other sheets, solving the pain point of "low-temperature brittleness" of most plastic sheets.
Excellent weather resistance and high temperature resistance
The PC surface layer has good weather resistance and strong UV resistance. After adding UV resistant additives, it is not easy to yellow, lose light, or age when used outdoors for a long time. The appearance can maintain its freshness for more than 5 years;
The long-term use temperature range of the board is -40 ℃~120 ℃, and it can withstand a high temperature of 150 ℃ in the short term. Its high temperature resistance performance far exceeds that of pure ABS board, and it can adapt to harsh environments such as high temperature and exposure to sunlight.
Balanced rigidity and toughness, good dimensional stability
ABS substrate provides excellent rigidity and structural support, ensuring the bending and tensile strength of the board, and can be used as a structural component to bear loads; The PC surface layer endows the board with flexibility, achieving a balance of rigidity and flexibility, and is not easily deformed or broken.
Composite panels have low water absorption and stable shrinkage rate (about 0.5%~0.8%) after molding. They are not easily warped or deformed in environments with temperature and humidity changes, ensuring the assembly accuracy and dimensional consistency of the product.
Good optical performance and protection
The PC surface layer has a certain degree of transparency (light transmittance of about 85%~90%) and can be made into transparent or semi transparent boards; At the same time, it has excellent impact and scratch resistance, can replace some glass products, and weighs only about half of glass, with higher safety.
Excellent processing performance, suitable for multiple processes
Inheriting the easy processing characteristics of ABS sheet, it can be processed and formed through conventional processes such as sawing, drilling, bending, vacuum forming, hot pressing, carving, etc., with high production efficiency;
Good surface adhesion, supporting secondary decoration processing such as spraying, screen printing, electroplating, and laminating, which can meet diverse appearance needs;
Strong interlayer bonding force, less prone to delamination during the molding process, and excellent structural stability.
High cost-effectiveness, replacing pure PC board
Compared to pure PC board, ABS/PC composite board uses ABS as the base material, significantly reducing raw material costs while retaining the core high performance of PC; Compared to PC/ABS alloy sheets, composite structures can adjust the thickness of the surface layer as needed, providing higher flexibility and making them an ideal low-cost alternative to pure PC sheets.
Environmental and safety features
Most models comply with environmental standards such as RoHS and REACH and are recyclable and reusable;
Has a certain degree of flame retardancy (V0 level flame retardancy can be achieved through formula modification), self extinguishing upon ignition, suitable for scenarios with fire prevention requirements.
